Abstract

Objective. The purpose of this study is to develop a calculation method for devices with in-tube ice freezing for the design of energy-efficient devices operating under ice formation conditions. It is necessary to determine the ice layer growth rate, which is a non-stationary thermophysical problem that requires in consideration of the increase in the thermal resistance of the ice layer over time.
Method. The study is based on methods of thermodynamic analysis of cryogenic engineering processes and objects.
Result. The results of the study demonstrate satisfactory agreement between the calculated and experimental data.
Conclusion. The presented method can be used for calculating volumetric cryocencentrators, as well as other equipment operating under ice formation conditions on the inner cylindrical surface.
